Stepchild
April 28 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Austin City Hall
Stepchild, a motion picture installation onto and around the amphitheater seating area of the Austin City Hall at Lavaca and Cesar Chavez. Colorful moving images from multiple projectors will interact with the audience and the architecture, creating abstracted impressions of waterfalls, growing flora, clouds and human figures sliding, swimming and floating across, through, up and down the levels of limestone. The piece addresses issues transition as natural scenes are contrasted against the angularity of the growing cityscape. The installation will be accompanied by the ambient music of Stars of the Lid and is produced with the kind support of the City of Austin, The Austin Film Society, Austin Museum of Art and Fusebox Festival.
