John Kelly
John Kelly is a performance and visual artist, writer, singer and actor. He is currently an Armory Artist in Residence at New York's Park Avenue Armory. This production of 'Paved Paradise Redux', directed by Kevin Malony, is a definitive version of his decade long exploration into the work of Canadian singer songwriter Joni Mitchell.
Kelly is currently writing songs, some in collaboration with Carol Lipnik, called 'The Escape Artist', which he is planning to record during 2010. Other work as vocalist includes: live performance of Nan Goldin’s 'The Other Side' slide show at London's Tate Museum; opening act for Natalie Merchant’s 'Ophelia' tour; recorded with Laurie Anderson ('Life On A String'); Jazz Passengers ('Jazz Passengers In Love'); David Del Tredici ('Secret Music'); has also performed with Antony and The Johnsons; Blue Man Group; Dudley Saunders; Carol Lipnik; and Chris Rael.
