A HOST: Fusebox Program with The Contemporary Austin

Join us for this multi-sensory journey into the night, where the secret life of bats is revealed through art and technology, challenging our perception of non-human consciousness.

Nocturnal Fugue uses bat vocalizations—from social calls to mating rituals—to artistically create a mesmerizing sonic experience. This soundscape is combined with visual projections that represent the environment in which the specific bat call is being made or in response to. Join us as we explore the complexity of bat communication as it merges with evocative music!

Renowned Artist Guadalupe Maravilla Unveils Multiple Works of Art Around Austin

Austin has sprouted not one, but two sculptural art works by renowned artist Guadalupe Maravilla. The Contemporary Austin, Waterloo Greenway, and Fusebox have joined forces to bring these works to the Austin community.

Fusebox Festival

Founded by a group of artists in 2005, the festival features unique live performances from Austin and around the world at sites and venues across the city, ranging from intimate galleries, theaters, and clubs, to large scale projects springing to life in parks, under bridges, and across entire neighborhoods. The last festival is just concluded April 7-14, 2024. We’ll be back for another festival in 2026 as we move to our biennial model.

Led by Fusebox Co-Artistic Director Dr. Carra Martinez, Live in America imagines a justice-oriented space for enriching communities, uplifting histories, and building a shared sense of stewardship. Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, its residency and artistic programs center on year-round hospitality that contributes to artistic growth in the local community and that supports relationship-building with artists from across the U.S. and its territories.

We give artists an unfiltered platform to dream and explore ideas on their own terms. Since 2005, Fusebox has proudly facilitated over 1200 events with over 4000 artists to create unforgettable experiences.

Fusebash

Fusebash is the Fusebox Annual “un-gala” fundraiser with immersive visual experiences and performances at every turn to raise money used to pay artists and creators throughout the year. Our next Fusebash will be on February 22, 2025, save the date!

Fusebox invites artists working across film, music, theater, dance, visual art, and literature to create vivid live performances and events once a year at our flagship event, Fusebox Festival. The festival features artists from Austin and the world, and springs to life across Austin at sites ranging from intimate galleries, theaters, and clubs, to large scale projects in parks and warehouses.
